Dr. L always shares that she has always wanted to be a therapist and at a very young age she would always find herself listening to friends, offering support, and trying to understand people without criticism and judgment.  

As a self proclaimed "cool-nerd", she was committed to academics since elementary school.  After graduating from Albany High School in 2000, she went on to study psychology at Morgan State University where she excelled academically and graduated Suma Cum Laude in 2004.  At 21 years old, LaShaunna's desire to help people had grown and although she was often reminded that there was "no money" in psychology careers, doing what she loved was more important.
